JAZZONIAN | Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc

Founded in 2009 as an educational cultural arts museum initiative by creative visionary musician/philanthropist Bobby Ramirez, Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc (dba Jazzonian and South Florida Jazz Summit) was established as a not-for-profit public charity organization on July 20th, 2009.

Our Mission:The mission of Jazzonian is to celebrate Jazz heritage, collect, document, preserve and present the rich Jazz traditions from its origins to modern-day variations through a permanent museum, virtual online and traveling art/photo/film and artifacts exhibitions, historical archives, recordings, literature, audio/visual experiences, interactive cultural education programs, live musical performances and special events for children and adults.

Our Vision:To inspire, educate, and bring people together! Our Values & Principles: At Jazzonian, we care deeply about maintaining and upholding the authentic artistic integrity of Jazz as America's most original artform.

We hold Jazzonian in sacred trust to ourselves and the people we serve in the community--honesty, integrity, humility, transparency, teamwork, respect for each individual--our values are founded in the principal that everything we do starts with people and ends with people. As so, we are in the service of Jazz to inspire, educate, and bring people together.

As an institution, Jazzonian is free of bias remaining neutral as it concerns issues and/or identity of race, politics, and religion. As such, Jazzonian’s only focus is to preserve, advance, present and celebrate the heritage of Jazz as an American artform as part of its visual arts and educational initiatives.

Goals:We are very focused on exposing kids to Jazz and helping to develop future Jazz audiences.

Our long term goal is to establish a permanent physical venue somewhere in South Florida that would serve as the JAZZONIAN MUSEUM, Jazz education institute, special events facility and state-of-the-art concert theater to celebrate Jazz heritage, inspire, educate, and bring people together!--WE CAN DO THIS!!

Our short term goal is to continue to develop the Jazzonian multimedia traveling exhibition and TOUCH JAZZ educational community outreach cultural arts programs to be presented at schools and special events throughout the area for children and adults. See current programs and initiatives here. Invest in the future of Jazz!
